Misty Hays (Jackson)

Misty is the mother of two children, Alyssa, age 15, and Carter, age 12 and is married to Rick Hays.

She is a graduate of the University of Central Ark and holds a B.S. degree in education and certification in Mathematics. Misty also holds National Board Certification in Mathematics. Misty has taught grades seven through twelve.

Misty relocated from Western Arkansas to the St. Louis area when listed at Barnes - Jewish Hospital for a lung transplant due to Primary Pulmonary Hypertension. She leads the Greater St. Louis Pulmonary Hypertension Support Group.

As a teacher for more than 5 years, one of the most important things to Misty is education. When choosing to make a charitable contribution to Second Wind, higher education was her priority.

A generous contribution from Misty Jackson made possible the establishment of a Second Wind Scholarship Program and the Misty Hays (Jackson) Patient Scholarship.
